Camp

Once again, the Temple Teens will be attending The Wilds Christian Camp this summer, 2011.  This is one of the premier Christian camps in the country.  They have the very best facilities, the friendliest staff, and the most beautiful campus.

The Wilds Christian Camp is located in Brevard, North Carolina and is nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains.  The Wilds takes full advantage of their gorgeous surrounds to effectively reach teenagers.  They do this through great activities, such as: hiking, swimming, water trolley, land trolley, basketball, crafts, rifle range, tubing, big ball volleyball, water slides, table tennis, Frisbee golf, lake activities, climbing wall, Human Foosball, Water Wars, minigolf, and the Giant Swing.  There are all kinds of fun activities, but the main focus is to reach teens through the preaching of God’s Word and the daily quiet-time known as “God & I Time.”  2011 will be the fifth year that we have attended the Wilds and each year we have seen God work in mightily in the lives of our teens.  This is a wonderful opportunity to leave all the cares and concerns of the world behind you for a week of fun and excitement as you grow in your friendships with your cabin-mates and in your relationship with the Lord.

We will be attending The Wilds from June 6th, 2011 to June 11, 2011.  I have included a form with more information about The Wilds along with a registration form.  Although The Wilds has room for over 700 campers, those 700 spots fill-up extremely quickly.  It is vastly important for everyone to fill-out the registration form and return it to me as soon as possible.  If we do not sign-up early, the week will fill up and space will be limited.

While, in my opinion, summer camp is one of the most important times to reach a teenager for Christ, it is also rather expensive, $300 UPDATE: The cost has been lowered to $249, including your $40 deposit which is covered by the Teen’s yearly budget, thus the cost for this year will be only $210.  If you would like to help sponsor a teen to go to camp, for any amount, please either see one of the church staff members or send a check to Temple Baptist Church marked “Teen Camp”.
