BreakIn!

On Friday, November 12th we will be having a BreakIn!

As many of you know, this past August, we had someone break into our Teen Building, here at church, and steal a TV and audio equipment. To help replace what was stolen, we are going to have a BreakIn to raise some funds.

A BreakIn is one of the most popular activity that we have for the Temple Teens. It is a great time to enjoy Christian fellowship while running around a dark building while searching for the hidden flashlight. Make sure you invite your unsaved friends so we can reach out to the during the night.

As I mentioned this morning in Sunday School, Swagbucks is a digital dollar that you get from using swagbucks.com to preform internet searches. For each search that you preform, you have a random chance to win swagbucks (usually you win once in the morning and once in the afternoon is what I have found). Swagbucks can be redeemed in the swagstore for all kinds of prizes but the best one has to be the $5 Amazon Gift Card. Yes, you can get free Amazon gift cards for simply searching the internet – something you already do!
Another way to win swagbucks is to use referrals. For every swagbuck that people who signed up under you referral code win, you get the same number, up to 1000. This is great if you have a bunch of friends that you can get to sign up and use swagbucks.
There is one word of caution – Swagbucks.com has to get their money from somewhere. You will notice on your search results from swagbucks.com that there are a lot more sponsored results that you would normally see on google or other search engines. This may bother some people. I find that I usually just ignore the sponsored results and look for urls that are not sponsored.

Hockey Game Cancelled

In light of the winter weather that we are about to receive, we are going to cancel our trip to the LaHaye Ice Center to watch the LU hockey game. I apologize about the inconvenience this cancellation may cause.

I’ll see everyone on Sunday for Sunday School, if we can dig out by that time that is! Enjoy the snow & make sure you throw a snowball for me!

Scripture Reading Challenge – 2010

With the new year upon us, many people make new year’s resolutions. One of the most common resolutions for Christians, is to read through their Bible in one year. This is a great thing to do and is important for every Christian to be reading their Bible on a daily basis. However, as with most New Year’s resolutions, people start out strong with their commitments but fail to see them through completely.
This year, for 2010, I have challenged the teens to read through the entire New Testament in just 52 days. While this may seem like a lot, it’s really not to bad. It comes out to be about 5 chapters per day.
Each day, I will be posting a brief questionnaire to help you dig deeper into each section and to help you grow more through this challenge. Let me encourage you to print each questionnaire and fill it out as you read through the section for the day. While you can view the questionnaire online, by printing out the questionnaire for each day, you will be creating a summary overview of the entire New Testament with your own personal thoughts and notes. All in just 52 days!
I hope this is a challenge to you and that you are looking forward to this! By starting as a group and having resources to help you along the way, we are increasing the opportunities we have to grow as a group and grow in Christ this year. Make sure you are involved this year!
