I had the opportunity, this evening, to spend some times outside with Benson, our golden retriever. With nothing to do while he was “occupied”, I found myself, once again, staring at the stars. I was awestruck tonight at the brilliance of the night sky. The crisp winter air held nothing in the way of the beauty of the heavens. As I began to look for the familiar outlines I was reminded of the fact that Genesis tells us that on the fourth day of creation, God created the heavenly bodies.
What has always fascinated is the way the Bible describes it in verse 16 of chapter 1 when it says, “He made the stars also.” Five words. So much splendor and brilliance contained in just five words. God is so amazing! If He create all the stars and sum it up as just five simple words, imagine the story He can tell and the impact He can have with other 31,000+ verse in the Bible. Isn’t it about time we put down the tv remote and that magazine and picked up the greatest story ever told? Get into your Bible and let it get into you.
