Chapter 3:
What position did Nicodemus hold in society? When did Nicodemus come to Jesus? Why did he come at this time?
What did Jesus say must happen for someone to see the kingdom of God? Why did this confuse Nicodemus? What was Jesus talking about instead?
What is the key verse in this chapter? Why? How does it summarize the entire gospel? What does it mean in your life? What does it mean in the life of someone who has never heard it before? What are you going to do about that?
Chapter 4:
What was the reason the woman came to the? When did she come to the well? Why?
What did Jesus ask her? Why was this unusual? Summarize their conversation in your own words. What do you find interesting about it? What key points do you find in it?
What was the result of Jesus’ conversation with this woman? Was the time that Jesus spent with this woman worth it? What does this say about the time we spend talking to people about Jesus?
Chapter 5:
What are the four witnesses that testify about Jesus in verses 31-47? How do they testify about Jesus? What do they “say”? Why is each one a valid witness to testify about Jesus? How can we use each of these testimonies when we witness?
Chapter 6:
Why did the people seek after Jesus? What did He tell them to seek after instead? Why? What was He telling them to really seek after? Why is this an encouraging thing to seek after? What happens to our needs once we find it?
Chapter 7:
Why did the Jews marvel when Jesus taught at the temple? Where did Jesus’ doctrine come from? Who’s glory does the person who speaks for himself seek? What does He say about the one who seeks the glory of God? What does this mean for your life? Who’s glory are you seeking? Do you need to change this? How are you going to go about doing that?
