Congratulations!  Today, you will finish reading through all four of the gospels!  Take some time to think back to what you have read and learned.  What stood out the most as you have read these four books?  Leave a comment below to let us know how you have enjoyed the Scripture Reading Challenge so far!

Chapter 18:

While being arrested, did Jesus resist at any time?  Who first asked who the soldiers were seeking?  What did Jesus say when the soldiers said they were looking for Him?  Why do you think He said this?  What is the significance of this statement?  Why did Jesus tell the men to leave His disciples alone?  Did Jesus “lose” any that were given Him?  What was Jesus’ priority at this time – His own safety or the safety of His disciples?  Why is this an encouragement to us?

Chapter 19:

Summarize this chapter in your own words.  What is the order of events?  What was written above the cross?  What did the chief priests want written instead?  What is the difference?  What did Jesus say while on the cross?  What is the importance of these?  What happened to Jesus’ body after He died?  Who took it to the tomb?  Who brought the spices?  What is the significance of this man?  Why is this one of the saddest and yet most joyful chapters in the Bible?  What can we learn from this chapter?

Chapter 20:

Describe what happened with Thomas.  Why did he not believe at first?  When he finally saw Jesus, did he have to put his hands into His side to believe like he said?  What did Thomas say?  What was Jesus’ response?
In verses 30 & 31, John tells us the reason that he wrote this book.  What reason does he give?  How does reading this book help you to believe in Christ?  How does this bring life in His name?

Chapter 21:

What was Peter’s decision at the beginning of this chapter?  Why did he want to go back to that job?  What did he do when he saw Jesus?  In your own words, relate the exchange between Jesus and Peter.  What was the purpose of this conversation?  What was the outcome?
How does John finish the book?  Did John write down everything that Jesus did?

Acts

Chapter 1:

Who wrote the book of Acts?  How does this relate to his previous book?
Describe the ascension of Jesus into heaven.  What did He promise before He left the earth?  What did the angels tell them?  Why is this an encouragement to us today?
What was Matthias chosen to do?  Why was he chosen?  How was he chosen?  What happened to Judas?
