Today’s Chapter: Acts 2-6
Chapter 2:
What happened on the Day of Pentecost? What were the disciples able to do? Why was this important? How did this help spread the gospel?
Summarize Peter’s sermon to the crowd. How is the whole sermon brought together with verses 38 & 39? What was the result of this sermon and the other disciples telling the people about Christ?
Chapter 3:
What was the lame man asking for from people passing by? What did he ask Peter and John for? Did they have any money to give him? Why not (see 2:44-45)? What did they do to the man instead? Did they do this in their own power? How did they do this?
How did this event lead to an opportunity for more people to hear about Christ? What does this say to us about taking every opportunity to glorify God and witness to people?
Chapter 4:
How many people were saved at the temple because of this preaching? What happened to Peter and John after they preached at the temple? When were they brought before the Sanhedrin, the ruling council of the temple? Did Peter speak in his own authority and power? When they were commanded not to speak or teach in the name of Jesus, what was Peter & John’s reaction? What does that mean to us today?
Chapter 5:
Relate the story of Ananias and Sapphira in your own words. What was the final outcome of their lying? Why did they lie? Would there have been any problem if they didn’t lie in the first place?
Why the apostles were were put in prison? How were they set free? According to Peter, why did they continue to preach in the name of Jesus? What was the outcome of all this?
Chapter 6:
Why were seven men chosen? What were they chosen to do? What were their names? What position is this commonly called today? What was the criteria to choose these men? Do you meet the criteria in your life?
What happened to Stephen at the end of this chapter? What did his face look like?
