Chapter 11

In this chapter, Jesus gives us an interesting insight to John the Baptist.  What was John asking Jesus?  Why could John not ask Jesus his question directly?  How does this relate to what we looked at yesterday?
How does Jesus answer John’s question?  Jesus then tells the crowd that John was a prophet “and more than a prophet.”  What did He mean by this?  Why should John be an example to us as we live our lives as Christians?
Why should verses 28-30  be an encouragement to us?  What is the key point of these verses?  Why do we need to remember this on a daily basis?
What else can we learn from this section?  How can this chapter change your life, today?

Chapter 12

When confronted with opposition claiming that Jesus and His disciples are sinning, how does Jesus respond?  Upon what authority does He depend?  In light of who Jesus is, why is this important that He stands on this authority?  What does that say about the authority we need to stand on when confronted with opposition?  What do we need to do to be able to stand on that?  What steps do you need to take or are already taking to do that?
Why are verses 18-21 important to us?
When the scribes and Pharisees asked Jesus for a sign, what sign did He tell them He would give?  Did He fulfill that sign?

Chapter 13

In chapter 13, Jesus begins to teach through the use of parables.  What is a parable?  Why did He teach the crowds this way?  What do these parables mean to us as Christians?
We see, time and again, that Jesus quotes scripture.  What does that say about Jesus’ view of the Old Testament and the Bible as a whole?  Do we need to memorize the Bible?  Are you doing that?  Why or why not?

Chapter 14

Chapter 14 gives us two of the most well know miracles that Jesus did.  What are they?
What is the first one?  What is so amazing about that?  What are the circumstances leading up to the miracle?  What provisions were at hand?  How much was left over?  Was this more than what they started with?  How many men were fed?  If there were that many men and one woman for every man and we’ll say two children for every man and woman (so a family of four – husband, wife and two children) what is a rough estimate for about how many were fed?
What was the second miracle?  What is so amazing about that?  What are the circumstances leading up to the miracle?  What did Jesus tell the disciples when they first saw Him?  Who was Peter focused on when he stepped out of the boat?  What did he then focus on?  What happened then?  What did Jesus tell him?  How did Peter respond?  What can we learn from Peter’s example?
What else can we learn form this section?  How can this chapter change your life, today?

Chapter 15

How does Jesus refer to the Pharisees in verse 14.  What does He say will happen to them?  What does this mean for our teachers of the Bible today?
According to Jesus, what are some of the things that come out of the heart?  What does Jeremiah 17:9 say about the heart?
At the end of the section, we see Jesus feeding another multitude.  What were the provisions this time?  Is that more or less than the last time?  Does that negate the miracle any?  How many men were there?  Using the same calculations as before, about how many total people were fed?  Is that amazing?  What does this mean about how God can provide for your life, even if you don’t have much to start with?
What else can we learn form this section?  How can this chapter change your life, today?
