II John

Chapter 1:

III John

Chapter 1:

Who Wrote this book?  To who was it written?
Why does John find no greater joy than to hear that his “children” walk in truth?  How were they his children?
What do you find in this book that you need to apply to your life?

Jude

Chapter 1:

Who wrote this book?  To who was it written?
What examples does Jude give us about God’s judgment of sin?
How does Jude finish the book?  Why is this an encouragement to us?

Revelation

The book of Revelation is the final book in the New Testament and will bring our Scripture Reading Challenge to a close.  The important thing to remember about this book is that John was unable to fully describe much of what he say.  To this end, he uses similarities to describe what was beyond his speech to convey.  When you read this book, begin by reading it literally, just as it is written.  When you come across a description using the words “like” or “as” then you can understand what John says figuratively but we must start literally, just like with the rest of the Bible.

Chapter 1:

Who wrote this book?  To who was it written?  Why was it written?
According to verse 3, when will the events in this book take place?
What are some of the words that John uses in verses 5-6 to describe Jesus?
Where was John when he wrote this book?  On what day of the week did he see these things?
What churches are specifically addressed in this book?  How many are there?
How does John describe Jesus in verses 12-16?  How does John react when he sees Jesus?  What does Jesus tell him to do?

Chapter 2:

Ephesus:
What did Jesus commend the church at Ephesus for doing correctly?  What charge did He place against them?  What did He tell them to do?  What would happen to them if they did not respond to this?
Smyrna:
What does Jesus know about this church?  What does He tell them not to fear?  Why does He tell them this?  What will they (and we) gain if we are faithful until death?
Pergamos:
What did Jesus commend the church at Pergamos for doing correctly?  What did He have against then, though?  What did He tell them to do?  What would happen if they didn’t listen?
Thyatira:
What did Jesus find good in this church?  What did He have against them?  What did He do?  What will all the churches know from this?
