Chapter 21

Chapter 21 brings us to the last week of Christ’s ministry before His crucifixion. It starts with His triumphal entry to Jerusalem – the city where the king lives. What is the people’s reaction to Christ entering the city? How does Matthew describe the number of people to partook of the triumphal entry?
The triumphal entry was the time when Christ was presented to the nation of Israel as their long awaited Messiah and the people responded accordingly. Did this response last?
What did Jesus do after He entered the city? Why did He go there first? What was His priorty when He entered the city? What does this say about what our priority should be?
How is the fig tree withering an example of faith? How can we experience this in our lives today?
What did Christ teach the disciples through the withering of the fig tree? Why is this important to us, today?

Chapter 22

Christ is again questioned about taxes. What is His response? What does this mean for us, today, when we pay taxes? How can we use our tax-paying as a testimony for Christ?
What does Jesus say about the resurrection in this chapter? Why were the people astonished? Why should this be an encouragement to Christians?

Chapter 23

How many times in this chapter does Jesus us the word “Woe”? What does that word mean in this context? Why was Jesus using this way? What lessons can we learn from the Pharisees’ example? What do we need to change in our lives to reflect this?

Chapter 24

In chapter 24, Jesus discusses the end times. In verses 36-44, Jesus tells about what the days will be like when the Son of Man comes. How did He describe it? Is that different from today? What does that mean for how we live our lives, especially in relation to verse 42?

Chapter 25

Verse 14-30 of chapter 25 gives us a wake-up call. What are these verses discussing? Describe the parable in your own words. How does this relate to how we are living our lives as Christians? How should we be living? Are you doing this? If Christ came back today, which of the three servants would you be? Do you need to change this? How are you going to do that? Why is this passage both an encouragement and a wake-up call?
