Today’s Chapters: Psalms 106-110
Pete’s Thoughts:
Psalm 106
Look at the number of times that Israel forsook God as accounted in this psalm. It is sad to read of their fall into sin and leaving God. There is also joy, however, when we read of how God delivered them time and again. This is so applicable to our lives. How many times do we fall away from God yet He brings us back and restores us. Verse 48 sums up our response – Blessed be the Lord!
Psalm 107:1-2
Those who have been redeemed should be shouting their thanks to the Lord. We should be singing praise to God. We are, after all, the only ones who have a reason to rejoice – we have been redeemed from the hand of our enemy – sin.
Psalm 108:7
What a wonderful thing to consider – God only speaks from His holiness. Yes, it’s something that is implied, God is holy, but how ofter do we stop and actually understand that with God being holy, everything He does, even when He talks is holy? The way in which He reaches down to us, the way in which He guides us, the way in which He teaches us are all holy. Nothing sinful, nothing wrong in any of it.
Psalm 109:26
The mercy of God is amazing. Not getting what we rightfully deserve. Praise the Lord for His mercy – let us never forget it!
Psalm 110:1
This is a wonderful psalm about Jesus Christ. It is awesome to be reminded that Jesus will one day be the victorious conqueror and have His enemies as His footstool in the realm (earth) where He was seemingly defeated. No one can beat our God!
