Today’s Chapters: Psalms 141-145
Pete’s Thoughts:
Psalm 141:3
How important it is to watch what we say! We need to always be mindful of what comes our of our mouths. We should be like David and ask God to guard our mouths. Say nothing but what God would approve of.
Psalm 142:7
What a great answer to pray David received from this verse. Not only did God deliever him from his current circumstances, but God has delievered every Christian from the prison of sin through the blood attonement of Christ. Now, as David says, we can praise His name!
Psalm 143:10
We need to make sure we are living in the will of the Lord. To do this, we need to be taught to do His will. Maybe it’s time we start asking God to show us how to do His will rather than wondering what it is. We should follow the old Nike shoe slogan – Just Do It. Ask God to teach you His will and then trust Him to show you. Don’t worry about the details, God will take care of those.
Psalm 144:4
This is a great reminder that we are nothing compared to God. He is eternal, we are like a breathe of air on a cold morning – seen for just a moment before it fades away. But not our God. He lives and reigns forever.
Psalm 145:3
Consider the fact that God is so great that no one can fathom it. You could study God for a thousand years and still be amazed at how great He is. The more you learn about God, the greater still He is to you. This should be such an encouragement to us as Christians! We can never grow tired of an ordinary, mundane God. He is awesome.
